Sympathy is extended to the loved ones of Phillip Russell who passed away Wednesday following a severe stroke.

It was a “Country Christmas” Saturday night, December 3rd, at the Roger Turney Gym. “Grandpa Jones” and “Minnie Pearl” were on hand to emcee and have some fun. Those present witnessed grandma getting run over by a reindeer!!  Grandpa did “The Christmas Guest”. K-5 grades performed several Christmas songs and our Jr. Beta performed their talent skit which placed them 3rd at the state convention. The evening ended with “Three Parts Grace” trio. Lots of good food was served in the concession stand.

What a great turnout and a great time for all who attended Dylan Hollandsworth’s Bone Marrow Drive. There were 200 added to the registry. The lady from Marrow.org said it was one of the best drives she has seen! Thanks to all who helped in any way.

It was Mr. Tom Allen’s 90th birthday and what a celebration it was Saturday the 10th when wife, Ladye Grace, treated him to a party with all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren!

There was another celebration Sunday the 11th. Thomas Brown and Jane Mullinax celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Auburn Baptist Church with over 120 friends and family members.

Friday, Tonya and Bob Davenport, Jimmy and Elaine Mingle, Betsy and Edward Leach, Bobby and Brenda Francis, Betty and Terry Thomas, Hallean Tate, Kizzie Lou Vance, Charlette Wimerly, Robbie Owen and Opha Jones enjoyed the annual Christmas feast of Janice and Charles Ritchey.

Saturday, Betty, Terry and Robbie were in Alexandria where they enjoyed breakfast.

Prosperity Baptist Church is hosting a Christmas Eve candlelight service beginning at 5 p.m. You are welcome to attend and bring a guest or two or three.

Happy birthday to Jordan Blackburn and McKenzie Turney on the 21st. Velma Turner’s big day is the 23rd. Christmas Eve birthday belong to Nell Summar and Sarah Hackney. The 25th is the biggest birthday celebration of all when we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Shawna Kennedy’s is the 26th and Betty Thomas finishes up the week on the 27th. Happy birthday everybody!

Gordon and Nell Summar celebrate an anniversary on the 21st. Christmas Day Chris and Teresa Bain have their 7th anniversary. Happy anniversary to both couples.
