Auburntown Council Discusses Upgrading Surveillance System



The Auburntown City Council met Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. for their regular monthly meeting. Mayor Roger Turney and all councilpersons were present.

The Council welcomed Frank Patrick back into its ranks after a lengthy absence due to illness.

The minutes of the September meeting was approved as presented by the Recorder.
     
The financial report was reviewed and approved without dissent. The balance of funds on deposit as of September 30th was $40,953.87.

The Mayor reported that the City’s involvement with running utility water up Hurricane Creek Rd. should soon be coming to an end. Just as soon as the contractor can finish up a few more houses, the final payment can be made, and the system turned over to the DeKalb Utility District.

The Fire Chief, Christopher Blackburn, addressed the Council regarding the possibility of having some type of notification for the elderly and others living alone. Although, the Council discussed the subject, no concrete plans or action was taken.

The Council also discussed the possibility of upgrading our surveillance system.  It too was left without action other than to check into the possibility of meeting with county officials to explore all the possibilities.

The meeting ended at 6:25 p.m.
