Assistant Police Chief Young Announces for Cannon County Sheriff

Assistant Police Chief Young Announces for Cannon County Sheriff
I, Darrell Young, would like to formally announce my candidacy for the office of Cannon County Sheriff. A life long Cannon County resident, I am the son of Joy Young and the late Billy Jack Young of the Short Mountain Community. I am happily married and have three wonderful children and wonderful grandchildren, and reside in the Short Mountain Community.

A graduate of Woodbury Central High School, I completed the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 1991. I come from an extensive and proven background in law enforcement with a wide range of skills and credentials. I served in the capacity as a Cannon County Deputy from 1991 to 1992, then in July 1992 to the Woodbury Police Department as a Patrolman, Captain and currently Assistant Chief of Police. I am certified by the Tennessee P.O.S.T. Commission as a Police Officer Instructor.

If I am privileged to be sworn in as the next Sheriff of Cannon County, I vow to be a working Sheriff. By being a hands-on Sheriff, I will know personally what the officers and citizens of Cannon County need from the Sheriff’s Department. As your Sheriff, I will restore accountability, trust, professionalism and communication within the office. I believe the citizens deserve ethical, competent and certified professionals to promptly respond to your needs. I am a man of integrity. I have and will continue to run a slander-free race. As your Sheriff, I will not tolerate any type of scandalous behavior among any of my employees. I will implement every proactive measure to protect and serve, while focusing on building strong relationships with you as citizens, along with our local, state and federal agencies.

I am asking for your vote and support. I encourage you to visit my websites, www.young4sheriff.com
