Jack K. “Tibor” Simon of Woodbury, Tennessee, passed away at his home on September 30, 2026, at the age of 80.
A Hungarian immigrant, Jack moved to the United States at the age of 10 and went on to make Cannon County his home for the past 42 years. He was a contractor and truly a “jack” of all trades, always willing and able to fix, build, create, or figure out just about anything.
In recent years, you could find Jack at the flea market every Saturday and Sunday, running his booth come rain or shine. He loved talking with people, telling stories, sharing pictures, buying lottery tickets, and driving through town. He was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved, especially at his grandchildren’s birthday parties, sporting events, and big family gatherings.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Gabriella (Adam) Worsham of Lexington, Kentucky, and Stephanie (Jeremy) Bush of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and his five wonderful grandchildren, Evan, Logan, and Hudson Bush, and Lydia and Graham Worsham. He is also survived by his two siblings in Hungary, Martha and Peter.
Of all the things Jack had in his life, he was most proud of his daughters and grandchildren. He never hesitated to tell them how much he loved them, and he texted them nearly every day to remind them how proud he was to be their dad and Papa.
Jack will be remembered for his stories, his humor, his many talents, his generous spirit, and, most of all, the love and pride he had for his family. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love with them always.
The family of Jack Simon will receive friends Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 12:30 P.M. - 3:30 P.M. at Woodbury Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 P.M. at Cherry cemetery with Bro. Charlie Heath officiating.
