Mr. Charles Harry Walton, Jr. passed away Friday, July 17, 2026 St. Thomas Rutherford E/R following injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born in Rutherford Co., he is the son of Reba Sellars Walton of Murfreesboro and the late Charles Harry Walton, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel Walton and father-in-law, Buddy Ray Mayo.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sheila Mayo Walton of Woodbury; son, Charlie "Cody" Walton of Woodbury, daughter, Kimberly Grizzle of Woodbury; grandchildren, Callie (Trevor) Givens, Allie Walton, Hallie Walton, Elaina Turner and Raylin Grizzle, great granddaughter, Iris Givens, his sister, Malissa (Tim) Key of Murfreesboro and mother-in-law, Marcia Mayo. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A member of the Baptist church, he was the owner of Anytime HVAC. He loved watching football, coaching youth football and softball.
Charles will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, love of sports, unwavering dedication to his family and the friendships he built throughout his life. Whether he was cheering on a game, spending time with family and friends or helping someone in need, Charles left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
The Walton family will receive friends Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with his best friends, Jay Covington officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.
