Juanita Mears Estes, 86, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, peacefully at her home in Murfreesboro. She was born on March 18, 1940, in Cannon County to her parents, the late Selmer and Kate Davenport Mears.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Estes and Amy (William) Smitty both of Murfreesboro; daughter of the heart, Teresa (Mark) Houschildt of Woodbury; grandchildren, Alan Hale, Hope Smitty, Maggie Hale, Stephen (Ciara) Houschildt, Chad (Brooke) Houschildt; great grandchildren Westin Hale and Harley Riley; caregiver Crystal Vincion; and her dog Buddy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Anderson and granddaughter, Brittany Hale.
Juanita she was a member of the Church of Christ; she was a hairdresser and retired from Pro Con. You could find her in the kitchen where she loved to cook and bake.
The Estes family will receive friends Monday, July 27, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Gardens.
