Rodney Coleman Patterson, 76, of Readyville passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Woodbury Health and Rehab after an extended illness. Born in Murfreesboro, TN., he was the son of the late, Swink Pershing Patterson and Margaret Coleman Patterson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Nell Mefford.
He is survived by his brother, Ronald (Lynn) Patterson of Smyrna, his children, LaNell (Alejandro) Santos of TX., Melissa Patterson of Readyville and Blake Patterson of Manchester; grandchildren, Collin (Jordan) Anderson and Ellie Anderson; great granddaughter, Lexie Anderson, and special friends, Kathy Simon and Tammy Gaither. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Patterson was a member of the Methodist church and served in the Air National Guard. He attended Castle Heights Military Academy. He furthered his education by attending Cumberland University, Vanderbilt University and University of Tennessee Knoxville. Rodney was a retired Gerontological Nurse Practioner, APRN., B.C. He was an avid traveler, his favorite destination was Yellowstone National Park. After retiring in 2017, he spent 2 weeks tent camping throughout the park. Rodney also enjoyed watching football and being on the farm.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, May 21, 2026, beginning at 1:00 P.M. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with his beloved grandchildren conducting his service.
