Carmack “Mack” Simmons, 95, of McMinnville passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Willow Branch Nursing Home in McMinnville. Born in Woodbury, he was the son of the late Castle Lonnie Simmons and Elen Parker Simmons Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Simmons and his brother, Rayburn Simmons.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and Sharon Simmons of McMinnville; nephew, Randy Simmons and niece, Janice Brown. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. A member of the Bethel Hill Baptist church, he also served as song leader for many years. He was retired from International Paper. Mack was also a member of the Warren Co. Senior Center, loved playing music, tending to his garden and was a huge Atlanta Braves Fan. Most of all, he loved spending time making memories with his family.
The Simmons family will receive friends, Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Woodbury Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 P.M. at Parker Hill Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Lusk officiating.
Pallbearers include Tony Parker, Andy Sadler, Clyde Prater, James Young, Jacob Carlton, Johnny Sparkman and Jesse Butler. Honorary Pallbearers include, Randy Simmons, Gary Pelham, Donnie Peacock, Roger and Mark Lewis.
