L. Kenneth Buchanan, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at his home in Morrison. Born in Waverly, he was the son of the late Luther and Marie Hooper Buchanan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kelly and Jewel Crabtree.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joyce Buchanan; his sons, Michael (Barbara) Buchanan and Stephen (Tammy) Buchanan; his daughter, Beth (Micheal) George; grandchildren, Kenny (Callie) Buchanan, Kim (Jerrilynn) Buchanan, Andrea (Jackie) Myers, Heather (Evan) Sharp, Conner Buchanan, Katie Buchanan and Abigail Buchanan; great grandchildren, Curtis Buchanan, Bryson Myers, Camryn Sharp, Brooks Buchanan and Audrey Sharp; sister, Sue Webb and sister-in-law, Sally Searcy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A member of the Friendship Pentecostal church, Nashville, Kenneth was a machinist at Methodist Publishing House, a farmer and was top salesman at Ace Hardware. He was a devoted Christian and enjoyed going to church.

The family would like to thank the Gentiva staff, Jenni Brooker, Christie Buttler, Jennifer Nelson, Kimberly Reid-Ross, Tanner, Ben and many more loving care providers who gave the upmost care during his last two years. We are so thankful that Mr. Buchanan established loving relationships with the staff. It made his passing seem like Gentiva were part of our family.

The Buchanan family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M. Sunday, October 5, 2025. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Vernon Rigsby officiating.

Interment will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 6, 2025 at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Kenny Buchanan, Conner Buchanan, Jackie Myers, Evan Sharp, Micheal George and David Searcy. Honorary Pallbearers include, Curtis Buchanan, Bryson Myers and Brooks Buchanan.
