Hallean King Tate, age 92, of Auburntown passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 at her home.  She was born to her parents, the late Claude & Jeffie Stoner King in Cannon County on her favorite holiday, October 31, 1932.

 

She is survived by her children, Roger (Janet) Tate of Auburntown, Ronnie Tate of Woodbury, & Wytona Tate Lester of Auburntown; and grandchild, David Tate of Auburntown.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmus Tate; her siblings, James King, Lytle King, Mildred Bryson, & Leota Hancock; and her son-in-law, Robert Lester.

 

Ms. Hallean was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church and was retired from Samsonite.  She was also many other things.  She was a homemaker, factory worker, a farmer where she loved watching and caring for her cattle.  She loved her grandson, David and loved her church where she was very involved.  She enjoyed traveling and was always up for an adventure.  Her favorite time of year was Halloween where she was known for her full size candy bars and cold drinks.

 

Funeral Services will be at 2 pm Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Auburn Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Thomas & Bro. Ric Lee officiating.  Interment will follow at Odom Cemetery.  Her family will receive friends for the visitation from 3 pm to 8 pm Saturday, September 6 and from 1 pm to 2 pm Sunday, September 7.
