June Hill Holt, 85, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 21, 2025, at Landmark Hospital in Savannah.

June was born in Reidsville, GA to the late Marvin Hill and Corry Harden Hill.  She graduated from Commercial High School in 1957 and retired after 32 years of service from AT&T (formerly Bellsouth and Southern Bell).

A woman of strong faith, June dedicated her life to serving in every church she attended.  Her church memberships started at the old Calvary Baptist Temple, then First Baptist Church in Garden City where she was active while raising her four children. After retirement, June and her husband, Buddy moved to the mountains of Tennessee, where she joined the First Baptist Church of Woodbury.  After many years in the clean air of the mountains of Tennessee, June and Buddy decided to move closer to family and made their final home in Glennville, GA where she lived for the past 21 years.  June joined First Baptist Church of Glennville, where she immediately became a part of the Sunday School, and the weekly ladies Bible Study group.  She studied her Bible every day and was a prayer warrior for anyone that she knew had a need.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles W. “Buddy” Holt, Jr.; son-in-law, Chris Gay; two sisters, Joyce Edenfield and Jewell Holsomback; and a brother, Justine Hill.

Surviving are her daughters, Lesile (Vince) Dettore and Lisa Gay; sons, Chuck Holt and Chris Holt (Christy Nelson); grandchildren, Michael Gay, Cory Gay, Heather Bueker (Chase), and Hillary Horne (Ryan); great-grandsons, Miles and Leo; and her dearest friends, Judy Cobb and Patty Peeples. June is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and the extended Holt family.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

A Funeral Service to honor June's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Glennville in Glennville, GA.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.

A private burial will be held in Greenwich Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to the First Baptist Church of Glennville, GA, 321 W. Barnard Street, Glennville, GA.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Erik Thomas and the nursing staff of the 7th and 3rd floors of St. Joseph’s Hospital, as well as Dr. Georg Laemmerhirt, Dr. Siddiqui, and the nursing staff of Landmark Hospital for the love and care given to their mother in her final days.
