My name is Lana Jones and I would like to announce my candidacy for the office of Cannon County Clerk in the upcoming August 2nd General Election.
I am a 1991 graduate of Cannon County High School.
I have been married to Michael Jones for 28 years and together we have two children.
Our daughter, Candace, is married to Cody Bailey and she operates Candace Jones Photography. Our son, Colin, teachers at Cannon County High School where he also coaches the Lions baseball team and is assistant coach of the Lions basketball team. Colin is engaged to Taylor Nelms, who along with our daughter Candace operates the Sarah and Alli Boutique on the Woodbury Public Square.
I, along with my parents Bobby and Betty Smith, and my siblings, Cynthia Tenpenny and Al Smith, were born and raised here in Cannon County.
I began working at the Clerk's Office in March of 1995 and during my time there, many services have been implemented to better serve the citizens of Cannon County: on-site title printing, same-day replacement titles, on-line renewals and on-line application for marriage or business licenses, just to name a few. Our office is currently on the list with the Tennessee Department of Safety to receive equipment to renew drivers' licenses and apply for and renew passports.
For your convenience, we implemented a system to enable the office to accept all major credit cards.
I feel that with my 23 years experience and my knowledge and understanding of the Clerk's Office, I am well prepared for the position of your next County Court Clerk.
If elected, I will continue to work hard to keep the County Court Clerk's Office moving forward and provide fast, friendly and efficient service in the most cost-effective manner possible.
I plan to see as many voters as possible before the August 2nd General Election, but if I fail to see everyone, I would like to take this opportunity to ask you for your support and vote.
