Ms. Amanda Marie Oliver, 74, of Woodbury passed away on June 2, 2021. She was born in Murfreesboro, TN on January 3, 1947. Preceding her in death were her parents, Jack and Mary Lawrence Barker Oliver. She is survived by her sister, Lynn (Bob) Weinige of North Carolina; special friend, Paul Wright; and numerous cousins and friends.

Ms. Oliver lived the life of an advocate as a follower of Christ. A member of the Murfreesboro Rotary Club, she believed in the motto of "Service Above Self." She also had a deep love and appreciation for animals and children. True to her passion for animals, she served on the boards of the Humane Society and Ferrell Hollow Farms Senior Horse Sanctuary. She has also been the Executive Director of the Beesley Animal Foundation for several years now.

A free spirit, Ms. Oliver enjoyed traveling, horseback riding, and art. She also devoted time working for the International Division of Medical Economics Publishing Company, promoting patient access to information regarding the state of healthcare. Earlier in her career, Ms. Oliver was an elementary school teacher. She taught in New York and Connecticut, but her heart lies in the Bahamas, where she lived and taught for 12 years.

Per Ms. Oliver's wishes, she will be cremated. Visitation will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 12-1 pm. Memorial services will be Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 1 pm in the Smith Funeral Home chapel with a private family service to follow. Herb Alsup and JoAnn Barker will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beesley Animal Foundation, Ferrell Hollow Farm Senior Horse Sanctuary, and Cannon County Community for Animals.
