Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Randy Neal was dispatched to 415 Doolittle Road on Aug. 14 for a report of trespassing.

He spoke with Mandi Mathews, who stated that her ex-boyfriend, James Allen Presley, 1420 West College St., Murfreesboro, came to her house around 2:15 a.m. and was trying to get her to open the door.

Mathews said she did not open the door and that Presley was going around the house trying to get in. Mathews said she told Presley that she was going to call the cops and he left the residence. She added she has told Presley not to come back to or call her house.

Deputy Eric Moss was dispatched to the same address later that day following a report of harassment. Mathews informed Moss that Presley had been calling her and she has told him to stop. She said Presley called at 11 a.m., 5:15 p.m., 5:29 p.m. and 5:41 p.m. Mathews said during the last call her father warned Presley about calling.

Mathews said Presley calls and talks to her like a dog and then he calls back and tries to be nice. Moss informed Mathews she could come to the sheriff's department and speak with a judicial commissioner about pressing charges if she desired.

• Deputy Randy Neal was dispatched to Ivy Bluff Church on Aug. 13 for a property recovery. He was met by Johnny Mitchell, 8670 Ivy Bluff Rd., Morrison, who said he had a car at 67 Orville Duke Rd., Morrison, that he wanted to get.

Neal, along with Mitchell, went to 67 Orville Duke and upon arrival Neal spoke with Sarah Dune, who stated that the car was hers and that she bought it from Mitchell's wife, Carmen Tomlin.

Mitchell had the tag and registration to the car which he had gotten from the courthouse. Dune had a bill of sale from Tomlin which was signed by Wanda Parker. Neal advised Mitchell he would need a writ of possession to get the car back. He also advised Dune it was a civil matter and would probably end up in court.

Neal later spoke with Tomlin at the CCSD, who stated she had been the owner of the car in question and that Mitchell must have forged his name to the title to get the car in his name. Tomlin said Dune paid her for the car and she was getting the title so that she could give it to Dune. Tomlin said Mitchell got the title because he applied for a lost title and then forged her name to it.

• Larry Milton Hutchins, 2872 Red Hill Rd., Morrison, was charged with Theft Over $1000 by CCSD Det. Vance Walker on Aug. 12. Hutchins is alleged to have stolen a Polaris 800 all-terrain vehicle from Kenneth Buchanan on July 6. The vehicle was found in Hutchins' shed on July 28.

• Gail Marie Passenger, Bradyville Hill Rd., Bradyville, was charged with failure to yield the right of way and leaving the scene of a property damage accident on Aug. 10.

Woodbury Police Sgt. Kevin Mooneyham reported that the vehicle Passenger was driving, a 1999 Ford Taurus, was involved in a motor vehicle crash on South McCrary St. in which Passenger pulled out in front of a motorcycle, causing said motorcycle to  strike her car in right rear, then left the scene of the accident without stopping.

• Woodbury Police Sgt. John House charged James Boyd Lovett, 915-A S. McCrary St., with theft under $500 on Aug. 12 following an investigation into the theft of a black Hyper Pro bicycle while it was parked at Adams Library on South College St.

• Calvin Curtis Lack, 6255 Hurricane Creek Rd., Auburntown, was charged on Aug. 12 by CCSD Deputy Anthony Young with possession of county street, road and highway signs after they were located on his property on June 7.

• Juan Kropf, 159 Pedigo Lane, Woodbury, reported to CCSD Deputy Steve McMillen on Aug. 16 that someone had vandalized two of his storage buildings with silicon.

• Michael Jones, 1506 Bradyville Rd., Readyville, made a report of phone harassment on Aug. 15 to CCSD Deputy Patrick Fann. Jones said his step-mom, Christy Jones, 8454 Lane Rd., Lascassas, keeps calling and texting his phone about a boat she accuses him of taking. Jones said he and his father own the boat, and that his father brought it to his place to work on. Fann spoke with Christy Jones and advised her to stop calling and texting Michael's phone. She agreed to do so.

• Elizabeth Ann Johnson, 133 Pelham Rd., Woodbury, made a report of debit card fraud on Aug. 13. She told CCSD Deputy Eric Moss that on Aug. 11 she checked her bank account and noticed there were three charges, two from X-Box and one with Play Station, that were pending. She said she contacted her bank to let them know that neither she nor her husband had purchased the items. She had the card cancelled.

• Deputy Eric Moss was dispatched to 3749 Hill Creek Rd., Woodbury, on Aug. 13 in reference to an assault that had already occurred. He was told by Michael Smithson that on Aug. 12 his brother, Eddie Smithson, came in his home and grabbed a check book from him. Michael Smithson stated the checkbook belonged to his mother, Helen Smithson, and the checking account was also in Eddie Smithson's name. Michael Smithson said he tried to get the checkbook back and Eddie hit him in the jaw. Ida Lou Sherrill, who was also at the residence, stated she witnessed the episode and verified Michael Smithson's account of the events.

• Deputy Tommy Barker was dispatched to a structure fire at 950 Smithson Hollow Rd. at 1:08 a.m. on Aug. 13. Upon arrival he observed the houses at 874 and 950 Smithson Hollow fully involved in fire. He spoke with J.W. Taylor, who said he was sleeping when he heard the smoke detectors start sounding. Taylor said he woke up and found his resident full of smoke, he then went outside and noticed the residence beside his fully involved also. Taylor said both residences did have power and the he was the only person at home during the time of this incident.

• Deputy Tommy Barker assisted Bonita Doxey, 9851 Jim Cummings Highway, Woodbury, with property recover on Aug. 12.

• Deputy Anthony Young was dispatched to 2510 Pleasant View Rd., Woodbury, on Aug. 11. He spoke with Jimmy Smithson, 1972 Geedsville Rd., Woodbury, who said he found a tent on his property while he was cleaning it. He said he did not know who the tent belonged to and that he would like to have it removed. Young checked with Sue Hodge, who lives next door, who said she owned the tent and had put t up on Smithson's property so her children could camp out and play in the creek. Young advised Hodge that Smithson wanted the tent removed. He also warned her about criminal trepass and that Smithson did not want her back on the property.

• Melissa Joy Brown, 4288 Hollow Springs Rd., Bradyville, was served a warrant for violation of probation on Aug. 16 by CCSD Deputy Anthony Young.

• CCSD Deputy Eric Moss was dispatched to 40 Hogan Davenport Rd., Readyville, on Aug. 15. He spoke with Eleanore Murhahan and she stated that Stanley Hale had a warrant for his arrest out of Rutherford County and he was in the building next to her home. He had dispatch confirm that Hale did in fact have an active arrest warrant for violation of probation. Moss took Hale into custody and transported him to the CCSD, where he was subsequently picked up by Rutherford County deputies and transported to their facility.

• Johnny Lee Duncan, 2479 Cherry Springs Rd., McMinnville, was charged with driving on a revoked license and violation of the financial responsibility law on Aug. 13 by WPD Sgt. John House.

• Johnny Lee Duncan, 2479 Cherry Springs Rd., McMinnville, was served a warrant for violation of probation in the Cannon County Jail Booking Room on Aug. 13.

• Michael Ray Pate, 3823 Cardinal Blvd., Fort Orange, FL was served a warrant for violation of probation in the Cannon County Jail Booking Room on Aug. 13.

• Juan Carlos Estrada, 309 W. Colonial St., Woodbury. was charged with driving on an expired license on Aug. 12 by WPD Patrolman John Fesmire.

• Robert Lewis Edwards IV, 347 Chandler Rd., Rock Island, was charged with violation of the financial responsibility law by CCSD Deputy Tommy Barker on Aug. 11.

• Karen Furches, 532 McFerrin St., Woodbury, reported a child's scooter, valued at $25, was missing from her front porch.

• Shawna Aline Espy, 508 McFerrin St., Woodbury, reported that someone had taken tomatoes off her plants and thrown them throughout the neighborhood.

• Amy Bond Judkins, 7064 Short Mountain Rd., McMinnville, was charged with failure to provide proof of financial responsibility and registration by CCSD Deputy Matt Parsley following an accident on Aug. 6.
