Adams Memorial Library now offering mobile hotspots

Adams Memorial Library has joined libraries across the state in offering mobile hotspots that will allow patrons to access the internet as long as it is used in an area with Verizon cell phone coverage.

The library offers access to computers and Wi-Fi daily, however the Wi-Fi is limited to the area in and around the library. Patrons will now have the luxury of being able to borrow a mobile hotspot to have access to the Internet whether at home or on the go--places where they typically wouldn't have access.

The library will be providing 3 hotspots with service from Verizon in hopes that this new availability will allow patrons to enjoy the internet from the comfort of their home or while on trips. Borrowing hotspots from the library is similar to borrowing DVDs and books--bring the item back by the due date and in the same condition as borrowed and it is free.

The hotspots are available to adult card holders (18 and older) for checkout for one week (7 days) at a time. The person wishing to borrow a hotspot must use their library card, show picture ID, sign an agreement form, and have an account in good standing at checkout time. Like our other library items, reservations are accepted for hotspots for card holders in good standing.

The library staff welcomes this new technology in hopes of providing educational and recreational benefits to the community and bringing in a renewed sense of accessibility to our patrons.
