A Shelbyville man accused of kidnapping and threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend, Lisa Marie George, turned himself in to Investigators at the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department Thursday, May 20.

Richard E. Cathey, 35, King Arthur Trailer Court in Shelbyville walked into the jail at 11:20 A.M. and was later interrogated by Investigator Vance Walker concerning the incident that began in Bedford County on Sunday, May 9 and ended in Cannon County on Wednesday, May 12.

In Cannon County Cathey was charged with Aggravated Kidnapping with a bond of $50,000 set by a Judicial Commissioner. He will answer the charges in Cannon County on Tuesday, July 13 in General Sessions Court before Judge Susan Melton.

The investigation in both counties continues.
