18-U Lions Are ‘Boys Of Summer’

The 18-under Lions survived a busy week with eight games in the Murfreesboro Optimist Big League.

The Lions were 3-5 during the grueling stretch.

Nathan McGuire enjoyed a dominating performance to lead the Lions past McCabe Friday. McGuire pitched a complete-game  in the 5-2 win. He allowed just two hits in the win and needed just 78 pitches.

The Lions received outstanding pitching throughout the week, which included the return of rising senior Austin Brown to the mound for the first time in almost two years.

Dalton Bell, Brent Duggin, Brian Duggin, Brock Francis and Chase Gunter all had solid performances as well. The Lions’ pitchers turned in seven complete games during the eight-game stretch.
