Young Earns A Spot At National Championship
Tyler Young just made his dreams come true for a second time. The 16-year-old dirt bike racer has qualified for the largest amateur motorcross race in the world, the 28th Annual Air Nautiques/AMA Amateur National Motorcross Championships at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. Tyler took on over 20,000 hopefuls from across America to earn one of just 1386 qualifying positions.

“The Amateur Nationals at Loretta Lynn’s is the event every motorcross race r in the country wants to compete in,” says Event Director Tim cotter. “A win at the Amateur Nationals can serve as a springboard to a lucrative professional motorcross career.”

Tyler just moved up a level this past season to the B class and has been riding for only three years. He has set high goals for himself and has achieved them through hard work and determination. He is home schooled with Stay on Track Virtual Academy which allows him to train more and compete all over the U.S. and is trained by Bryan McDonald of Longshot Racing.

Tyler would like to thank his sponsors: Sloans Supercenter, Answer Gear, Oakley, RG3 of TN, Decal Works, Shoei, and Pirelli Tires. He would also like to thank his parents, driver, mechanic, girlfriend and teachers for all of their support. He has participated in many races this year and competes still nearly every weekend in several states across the U.S.

Tyler will be heading to Hurricane Mills in Tennessee August 2nd thru the 8th along with his family, friends and teammates. He is just one of the over 20,000 who spent the last four months qualifying for the event. The top finishers in area and regional qualifiers earn a berth into the national championship race at Loretta Lynn’s. He will be competing in the 450B Stock Class and will be riding in the memory of his friend/teammate Jacob Nash #241 who suffered fatal injuries at a qualifier in April of this year. Tyler also made the Loretta Lynn’s Honor Roll for his good grades and hard work off the track. Loretta Lynn’s is proud of their “moto brains.”

Tyler is the son of Rodney and Angela Young. He has one sister and brother-in-law, Heather and Jared Smith and a nephew, Jaxon. Grandparents are David and Pam Prater, Joy Young, and the late Billy Jack Young.
