WPD Makes DUI, Drug Arrest; Sheriff Deputies Seek Stolen Property



Following are the latest arrest and incident reports as recorded by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department and the Woodbury Police Department. Readers are advised that an allegation or report of a crime does not necessarily constitute a crime, or that one took place. All persons accused of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

WPD Incident Reports

• Kimberly A. Couch was charged with DUI 1st Offense after being stopped by Officer Lowell Womack on March 27, 2010.

• Micah Colin Young and Jayme Tianna Case were each charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia (glass pipe) by Sergeant John House on March 27, 2010.

• Donna Jo Cook was charged with driving on a revoked license 4th Offense and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage by Assistant Chief Darrell Young after she backed into a parked vehicle at S. Ridge Apartments on March 22, 2010.

CCSO Incident Reports

• Deputy Patrick Fann responded to a vehicle fire at Purser Hill Road on March 23, 2010. Vehicle owner Richard Teachout explained that he stopped the truck after hearing a pop and his lights beginning to flash and shortly after he exited the vehicle it burst into flames.

• Deputy Steve McMillen responded to a vandalism call at The Red Barn on Jim Cummins Hwy. on March 24, 2010. There Alan Ellis explained that Steven Park had aggressively left the parking lot after an argument with a couple who had stopped in the lot. He had flung gravel everywhere.

• Deputy Reed Bryson assisted Carmin Smith in taking possession of a dog after a neighbor had complained of it being aggressive. Mrs. Brenda Williams of 512 Sunny Slope was taking care of the dog and she agreed to let Mrs. Smith take him. This occurred on March 26, 2010.

• Deputy Eric Moss responded to a stolen gun at 202 Hollis Creek Road on March 26, 2010. There Alvin Smith explained that the shotgun he kept on his backhoe had gone missing on March 24.

• Rodney Nichols served a warrant on Donna Forth for worthless check at the CCSO on March 11, 2010 without incident.

• Rodney Nichols served a warrant on Thomas Coleman for failure to appear at the CCSO on December 31, 2009 without incident.

• Rodney Nichols served a warrant on Phillip Schaffer for violation of probation at the CCSO on March 8, 2010 without incident.

• Rodney Nichols served a warrant on Mark Robinson for violation of probation at the CCSO on January 11, 2010 without incident.

• Rodney Nichols served two warrants on Eddie Gulley for capias and failure to appear at the CCSO on January 19, 2010 without incident.

• Deputy Randy Neal responded to a call of stolen property at 3713 Hill Creek Road on March 27, 2010. There Cathy Barrett stated that she had some property stolen from 5916 Pleasent View Road, a Snapper riding mower and a gold truck bed trailer. She was not sure exactly when the items were stolen but sometime in the last two weeks.

• Deputy Eric Moss responded to a dog bite at 728 Northcutt Road. Ms. Susan Cooper had been charged by a couple of the neighbor's dogs and bitten by one but she did not wish to press charges, only to make sure the dogs were healthy and their shots were current. Sharon Klaus, who takes care of the dogs, found that the shots were not current and the dogs were taken to Dr. Tate's office for an evaluation period of ten days.

• Deputy Anthony Young responded to a vandalism call at 302 Billy West Road. There Charles Eugene Howland explained that the mobile home he owned on this property had been vandalized sometime between March 22 and March 24, 2010. A doorknob was broken as well as a window and a glass door pane. All damage looked to be done with bricks and nothing was stolen.

• Lt. Brad Hall and PIO Andy Bryson responded to a complaint from Tammy Burns of a neighbor's dog messing up her yard on March 29, 2010. Neighbor Jason Owen of 755 Dickens Hill Road agreed to keep the dog put up and officers observed him doing so.

• Lt. Brad Hall and PIO Andy Bryson responded to an alarm call at 114 Hicks Lane on March 29, 2010. They checked out the scene and nothing appeared out of the ordinary. They waited for keyholders to arrive to check the inside of the residence. Nothing seemed to have been stolen or vandalized.

• Deputy Brandon Mimms responded to an unwanted guest at 88 Dorris Patton Road on March 29, 2010. There Albert and Allyson Parsley explained that they'd been arguing with William Holt but not fighting. Mimms said the group needed to separate for the evening.

• Deputy Anthony Young assisted Aubrey Barlow in checking out some suspected foul play from March 25-29, 2010. Barlow suspected something had happened to his neighbor's wife because the couple had moved out in a hurry and left many things behind. The couple was eventually tracked down in Murfreesboro and found to be fine.

• Deputy Tommy Barker was informed of a trailer fire at 941 Manustown Road on March 23, 2010. He found the trailer fully engulfed and worked traffic while firefighters put it out. Deputy Fann found a cell phone belonging to Doyle Mooneyham. Deputies attempted a welfare check at Mooneyham's nearby residence but were unable to make contact. On March 24, Lt. Brad Hall went to 957 Manustown Rd. to take a statement from Mooneyham about his whereabouts the previous night. Later Jeremy Buse and Star Seiber reported that a truck, go kart, and a few other things had been stolen from the 941 Manustown property. The truck is a tan and brown Ford Ranger.

• Deputies Eric Moss, Tommy Barker, and Patrick Fann responded to a couple of related complaints on March 27, 2010. James Speed of 319 Houston Parker Road had fired a .22 caliber pistol at Herbert Cobb's truck. Mr. Speed denied having fired the gun, insisting he'd only used fireworks but deputies took the pistol as evidence and found a matching bullet in the truck's tailgate. Five warrants for aggravated assault were taken out on Mr. Speed and his bond was set at $20,000.
