WPD charges several with pot possession

A Bradyville man who can't seem to stay out of trouble was arrested again on Jan. 15 and charged with his fifth offense of DUI.

Randall Smotherman was driving through Woodbury when he was pulled over by Parolman John House. Smotherman refused to submit to a blood test and could not satisfactorily complete the field tests.

In addition to DUI 5th offense, Smotherman was charged with his 4th offense of driving on a revoked license and violation of the implied consent law.

He will answer to the latest charges in Cannon County General Sessions Court March 13. He is also facing charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct and phone harassment from prior incidents.

• James Mason Leonard, Bradyville, was charged with attempted robbery on Dec. 23 by Patrolman Josh Thomas of the Woodbury Police Dept. According to the arrest warrant, Leonard allegedly reached across the counter at First Stop Market and grabbed some $20 bills. When the cashier scream at him, Leonard threw the money down and ran out of the store. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Two Woodbury men are facing charges from a reported incident on Jan. 8. Wyatt Collin Sellars is charged with domestic assault for allegedly striking Trevor Eli Smith in the face. Smith is charged with violation of a protection order. It is alleged that he made direct contact with Sellars, during which a domestic assault occurred. Initial court date is Jan. 23.

• Sandra Kay Campbell, Woodbury, was charged with simple possession of marijuana on Jan. 9 by Patrolman Tommy Miller of the Woodbury Police Dept. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Howard Green Byrn, Woodbury, was charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia on Jan. 11 by Patrolman John House of the Woodbury Police Dept. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Conner Reese Hawkins, Woodbury, was charged with simple possession of marijuana on Jan. 11 by Patrolman John House of the Woodbury Police Dept. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Michael Noah Barrett, Woodbury, was charged with driving on a revoked license on Jan. 10 by Patrolman John House of the Woodbury Police Dept. A release citation was issued. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Michael Robinson, Woodbury, was charged with vandalism over $500, reckless endangerment and theft of property over $500 on Jan. 12 by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Tonya Holland.
According to the incident report, Robinson destroyed window screens, windows, picture frames, ceramics and various other items at the home of a relative.
Robinson had left the residence prior to the arrival of officers. He was picked up in Coffee County and transported to Cannon County the next day. His bond was set at $8,500. His initial court date is March 6.

• John R. Wallace, Old Hickory, was charged with DUI on Dec. 14 by the Cannon County Sheriff's Dept. Deputies responded to an area of Dug Hollow Rd. in Bradyville on that date following a report of a wreck with entrapment.
Upon arrival they located a 2002 Honda sitting in the ditch off the left side of the road. The driver, Wallace, stated a deer jumped out in front of him.
According to the incident report, Wallace said he had been drinking a few hours before the wreck. He was allegedly unable to satisfactorily perform standard field sobriety tests. His initial court appearance is set for March 20.

• Wendy Elizabeth Hurst, McMinnville, was charged with driving on a revoked license on Dec. 29 by Chief Deputy Anthony Young of the Cannon County Sheriff's Dept. Young stopped Hurst while she was driving on Eugene Reed Rd. following a report of a reckless driver. Initial court date is Feb. 6.

• Cam T. Yang, Tomah, WI, was charged with driving on an expired license on Jan. 4 by Patrolman John House of the Woodbury Police Dept. His license expired on July 29, 2017. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• John V. Hill, Woodbury, was charged with driving on a revoked license, fourth offense, on Dec. 18 by Patrolman Tommy Miller of the Woodbury Police Dept. Hill was stopped on Mason St. Initial court date was Jan. 9.

• Erica T. Ramey, Woodbury, was charged with driving on a revoked license on Dec. 19 by Patrolman Tommy Miller of the Woodbury Police Dept. following a traffic stop on W. Main St.

• Howard Lee Weddington, Jr., Hillsboro, was charged with violation of the sex offender registry on Dec. 18 by Patrolman Tommy Miller of the Woodbury Police Dept. Weddington was at a location on Tilford Court, which is within 1000 feet of a school.

• Dallas E. Voyles was charged with driving while license suspended on Dec. 29 by Patrolman Dustin Pack of the Woodbury Police Dept. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Darian Alexander Miller, Murfreesboro, was charged with driving on a suspended license on Dec. 28 by Patrolman Tommy Miller of the Woodbury Police Dept. following a traffic stop on John Bragg Hwy. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Sherry Collins, Bradyville, was charged with driving while license suspended on Dec. 31 by Patrolman Tommy Miller of the Woodbury Police Dept. following a traffic stop on S. McCrary St. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Noah Wesley Harris, Woodbury, was charged with expired driver's license on Dec. 30 by Patrolman Tommy Miller of the Woodbury Police Department. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Richard Chase Bogle, Woodbury, was charged with reckless endangerment and evading arrest on Dec. 30 by Patrolman Joshua Thomas of the Woodbury Police Department. Bogle crashed his vehicle into a ditch on W. Adams St. Initial court date is Feb. 13.

• Howard Mayo, Liberty, was charged with driving on a revoked license and invalid registration on Jan. 6 by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Emmaly Beasley. Initial court date is March 5.
