The new Weight Watchers summer session will offer 12 weeks for the price of 10.
Money will be due Thursday, June 9th, although the first week will begin June 16th and run through September 1st.
The community based program requires an enrollment of 15 paying members before the new session can start. This group has been meeting continuously on this basis for about 3 years. If you are new plan to come to the June 9th meeting to enroll and stay for the meeting as a guest.
Cost to join is: $120 new members, $110 continuing members, $100 for lifetime members more than 2 pounds over goal, and is always free to lifetime members maintaining their goal weight. Two checks, each for half the dues, will be accepted at the June 9th meeting.
Split checks should be dated June 9 and July 9. All checks must contain two phone numbers, the driver's license number, and cannot be starter checks. In the unlikely event that the enrollment goal is not met Weight Watchers will refund the money.
The group meets on Thursdays with weigh-ins beginning by 4:45 p.m., followed by a short meeting. Meetings are held in the community room in the basement of the U.T. Extension Office on Lehman Street, across from the Senior Citizens Center. (Park and enter from the back.)
Written materials will be furnished. Weight Watchers members learn to shop, prepare, and eat for better health, all in a caring, supportive atmosphere. While following the Weight Watchers plan it is possible to eat with the family, dine in restaurants, and even make good choices at church suppers. You have nothing to lose but weight!
