Woodbury Board To Consider Water System Upgrades

Over a half million dollars in upgrades to Woodbury's water and sewer system will be considered by the town's Board of Mayor and Aldermen when it meets Tuesday at city hall.

Following is the agenda for the meeting, and the text of two resolutions the Board will consider.

* Consider adoption of Resolution 04-11, a resolution authorizing upgrades to the water treatment plant basin and backwash surge tanks.

* Consider adoption of the proposed 2011-2012 budget on first reading.

RESOLUTION 04-11

A RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE TOWN OF WOODBURY

WTP BASIN AND BACKWASH SURGE TANKS UPGRADE

WHEREAS, it becomes necessary from time to time to upgrade certain portions of the Town of Woodbury Water and Sewer System to maintain EPA and State of Tennessee Requirements and to continue to provide service to the citizens of the Town of Woodbury;

WHEREAS, the WTP Basin and Backwash Surge Tanks are in need of upgrades to comply with EPA and State of Tennessee Requirements and to provide future customer service; and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor of the Town of Woodbury be allowed to enter into any necessary contracts; to allow any necessary bids; to sign all documents necessary; and to make any payments required to the WTP Basin and Backwash Surge Tanks Upgrades to proceed as required.  That the Mayor of the Town of Woodbury is authorized to approve any plans necessary to complete this project.

FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED all payments are to be made out of current funds of the Town of Woodbury.  No debt shall be incurred in this project without further approval of the Board of Mayor and Alderman.  The Mayor of the Town of Woodbury may approve any expenditure in the total amount of Four Hundred Seventy Thousand Dollars ($470,000.00).  Approval by the Board of Mayor and Alderman is required for any payments made over Four Hundred Seventy Thousand Dollars ($470,000.00).

RESOLUTION 03-11

A RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE TOWN OF WOODBURY
BRADYVILLE PUMP STATION UPGRADE

WHEREAS, it becomes necessary from time to time to upgrade certain portions of the Town of Woodbury Pump Stations to continue to provide serves.

WHEREAS, the Bradyville Pump Station is in need of upgrades to continue to provide future customer service; and

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor of the Town of Woodbury be allowed to enter into any necessary contracts; to allow any necessary bids; to sign all documents necessary; and to make any payments required to the Bradyville Pump Station Upgrade to proceed as required.  That the Mayor of the Town of Woodbury is authorized to approve any plans necessary to complete this project.

FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED all payments are to be made out of current funds of the Town of Woodbury.  No debt shall be incurred in this project without further approval of the Board of Mayor and Alderman.  The Mayor of the Town of Woodbury may approve any expenditure in the total amount of Seventy Five thousand ($75,000.00).  Approval by the Board of Mayor and Alderman is required for any payments made over Seventy Five Thousand Dollars (75,000.00).
