A Bradyville woman has been charged with stealing water from the Town of Woodbury.

According to an incident report, Cannon County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Anthony Young along with Deputy Dakota Liles were dispatched to the Cannon County Sheriff's Department on May 4. Upon arrival, they spoke with Town of Woodbury Public Works Director Shane Gannon and Mike Davenport, who works for the water department.

Gannon and Davenport stated that Diana Lynn Barrett had been stealing water from the Town of Woodbury. They said that they had cut water service off to her residence located at 336 Thurston Young Road and that she had been cutting off the lock they had put on her meter and had turned the meter back on.

They further stated they had done this three times and Barrett had continued to cut the lock off and turn the meter back on. Total loss for the water, locks and employee time paid is $524.71.

Chief Deputy Young made contact with Diana Barrett and served her a release citation for violation of T.C.A. 39-14-404, Theft of Services. She was scheduled to appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court on May 29.
