William Lloyd Clement



William Lloyd Clement, age 93, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011.

He was a native of Benton County and son of the late Clarence and Maynie Stokes Clement.

Funeral service will be at 3:30 Saturday afternoon at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Dr. Jim Clardy and Dr. Craig Goff will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with Full Military Rites.

Mr. Clement is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maurine Weatherly Clement; twin sons, Kevin Clement and his wife Karen and Kelly Clement and his wife Angela, daughter Regina Wright and husband Randy all of Murfreesboro; brother, Robert Clement of Big Sandy; two sisters, Mary Lou Farmer of Duncan, Okla.; and Virginia Presson of Bruceton; and five grandchildren Luke, Carly, Jonah, Anna Grace Clement and Will Wright.

Mr. Clement was a member and taught Sunday School class at the Woodbury First United Methodist Church for 54 years. Upon moving to Murfreesboro, he joined St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He attended UT Martin and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He served in the US Air Force, US Army, and National Guard. He retired in 1972 as an agent for the Soil Conservation Service in Cannon County and also was employed by the Cannon County Election Commission. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Building Funds of Woodbury First United Methodist Church or St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Clement.
