Wiley Glenn Duke



 Funeral services for Mr. Wiley Glenn Duke, age 79, of Manchester, TN, will be held Monday, March 11, 2013, at 12:00 noon at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Doyle Sadlier and Reverend Joe Herbert Sissom officiating; both of Cannon County, TN. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Duke passed away suddenly Friday, March 8, 2013, at United Regional Medical Center in Manchester, TN.

He was born in on May 14, 1933, in Bradyville,Tennessee, to the late Joe C. Duke and Claudia Parker Duke. Mr. Duke married his loving wife, Wanda A. Duke, on October 1, 1960, and they were blessed with two children; they shared 52 wonderful years of love and companionship. He worked as a journeyman electrician for most of his life and served his country faithfully and dutifully in the Korean War. Mr. Duke was a devoted family man, always spending his time with those closest to his heart. He loved to be outside and took great pride in maintaining and working in his vegetable garden. He was an avid golf player and all-around "sports nut." He loved to play his fiddle and enjoyed listening to bluegrass music. Mr. Duke was a Godly man who loved the Lord and celebrated his Baptist faith.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six brothers, Morgan Duke, Alton Duke, Ferris "Shorty" Duke, Hilton Duke, Thurston Duke, and Clayburn Duke, and four sisters, Leona Spry, Carmine Drennon, Norene Holt, and Roberta Duke.

Survivors include his loving wife, Wanda Duke; two children, Lisa A. Duke Cox and husband Charles Cox of Dallas, TX, and David G. Duke of Huntsville, AL; one brother, Wendell "Bud" Duke and wife Sybil; three sisters, Jewel Christian and Glera Presley of Manchester, TN, and Lera Whittemore of Southgate, MI, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He will be loved and missed by all.
