Walter "Rusty" Bryson, 85, died Friday, May 28, 2010 at his home following an extended illness.

A native of Cannon County, he lived in Woodbury. He was the son of Bobbie Lee and Roberta Owen Bryson.

An Army veteran and member of the Sycamore Baptist Church, he was a farmer and school bus driver.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise Gilley Bryson of Woodbury; a son, Joe (Vicki) Bryson of Woodbury; a daughter, Rita (Jim) Priest of New Market, TN; grandchildren; Betsy (Jason) Hawkins, Benjamin Bryson, Josh (Dottie) French and Matt French; step grandson, Zack Priest; three great grandchildren, Connor, James and Georgia Hawkins; and sister in law, Norma Bryson of Woodbury.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert (Bull) Bryson.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 31 at 2 p.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at Woodbury Funeral Home.
