Vote early through Thursday

Early voting for the May 1 for the Republican Primary for local offices and Circuit Court Judgeship ends on Thursday, April 26.

As of Friday, April 21, there had been 192 votes cast during the early voting period.

April 11th - 17 voters
April 12th - 20 voters
April 13th - 24 voters
April 14th - 19 voters
April 16th - 18 voters
April 17th - 21 voters
April 18th - 26 voters
April 19th - 17 voters
April 20th - 15 voters
April 21th - 15 voters

The only contest race in the primary is for Circuit Court Judge, 16th Judicial District, Division III, between Nathan Nichols and Barry Tidwell.

Early voting hours at the Cannon County Election Office at 301 West Main St. are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 1.

When you go to vote, remember to bring identification with you. A voter must have a federal or Tennessee state issued photo ID. If no photo identification is provided, the voter will vote a provisional ballot and the voter will have until two business days following Election Day to return to the election commission office and show an acceptable photo I.D. or the ballot will be rejected. Forms of acceptable identification include a Driver's License with your photo, United States Passport, Department of Safety photo ID, Photo issued by the Federal or TN state government, United States Military photo ID or Gun permit card with your photo (even if they are expired).
