VITA begins tax preparation help
Thursday, January 31, 2013 3:43 pm The 2013 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, a partnership between Greenhouse Ministries and the United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, has begun tax preparation for qualified individuals. The service will be available from January 2013 to April 2013.
Appointments for qualifying individuals are available by calling (615) 494-0499. This year, online preparation is also available at www.uwrutherford.org. Those needing assistance with online preparation may call 2-1-1 or (615) 269-4357.
Last year's VITA program resulted in 346 tax returns with $492,000 generated in to Rutherford and Cannon Counties.
