The Veterans and Concerned Citizens for the Veterans of Cannon County will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at the Senior Citizens Center in Woodbury. We will elect our Service Marshals (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard, our POW Marshal, and our Concerned Citizen Marshal. All of our World War I Veterans are gone. This year we are trying to get all World War II veterans to fill these nominations. Our World War II Vetrerans are getting few and far between. If you know a World War II veteran from any of the military service branches that you would like to nominate, call Jim Stone at 615-563-6111. Let's honor our World War II Veterans while we can. We are also planning our Veteran's Day Program at the Cannon County High School on Friday, 11 November, and our Annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, 12 November.
