The Veterans and Concerned Citizens for the Veterans of Cannon County will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday,September 23, 2010, at the Senior Citizens Center, next to the Veterans Memorial Gym, on Lehman Street, in Woodbury.

We are getting ready for our Veterans Day Program at Cannon County High School on Friday November 12 and our Veterans Day Parade on Saturday November 13.  This is our 17th year working with Cannon County High School honoring our Veterans.  We nominate our Marshals for each Military Service, our POW Marshal, our Civilian Marshal, and our Grand Marshal for our Parade, during our two meetings in September.

Be sure to see our new poster for 2010 -- "Support the Veterans of Cannon County"  Our Goal for 2010 is to have a support poster in the window of every business in Woodbury.  Please help us to support the Veterans of Cannon County.

If you do not have a new 2010 Support Poster call any one of the following and they will see that you get your Poster showing your support to the Veterans of Cannon County -- Jim Stone, Penny Daniels, Bob Stoetzel, Dr. Bill Jennings, or Dan Bowling.

Thank you so very much for your support for our veterans, they sacrificed a lot for this wonderful
freedom we enjoy today.  Many gave their lives, the 61 names engraved in our Monuement in front of the Court House, they were young men who never got to enjoy a family, kids, and grandkids.  And it is still going on today in Afghanistan.  We need to honor these young men and women. They are our real heroes.
