Two men plead guilty to DUI



Judge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Court on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8. The results of some of the cases on the dockets are as follows:

• Donald Lee Curlee pleaded guilty to DUI second offense. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and was placed on probation for an equal amount of time. He was also ordered to serve 45 days in the Cannon County Jail and pay a $600 fine and the court costs. His driver's license was also suspended for two years.

• Johnny Wayne Wilson pleaded guilty to DUI first offense. He was given a partially suspended of 11 months, 29 days and was ordered to serve 5 days in the Cannon County Jail. He was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days and ordered to pay a fine of $350 plus the court costs. His license was also suspended for one year. Wilson also pleaded guilty to evading arrest. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, ordered to serve 5 days in jail, and was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days. He was also ordered to pay court costs. The sentences will run concurrent.

• Trevor Smith pleaded guilty to domestic assault. He was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 says and was placed on probation for 10 months, 24 days. He was also order to pay court costs and domestic violence inventory assessment. He is to have no contact with the victim and the victim must petition the court for contact. Smith is also prohibited by federal and state law from ever owning or possessing a firearm. Smith, of Woodbury, was arrested on Nov. 1 by Woodbury Patrolman Travis Turney. A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed.

• Donna Annette Bogle had her petition for a suspended sentence denied. Bogle had previously agreed to waive application for a suspended sentence if she violated probation.

• Christopher Davenport pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident. He was given a suspended sentence of 30 days and an equal amount of time on probation. He was also fined $25 and ordered to pay court costs.

• Nathan Lewayne Davis had a charge of simple possession bound over to the grand jury.

• Mary Elizabeth Espy pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana. She was granted judicial diversion and was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days. She was also fined $250 and ordered to pay court costs, forfeit any property seized.

• Jeremy Scott Foster pleased guilty to criminal trespass. Sentencing was set for Jan. 30. He is to stay away from the victim and the premises where the offense occurred.

• Kenneth James Gammon was in court on a charge of violation of probation, drug related. Prior to his case being heard, he failed a drug screen. He was remanded to the custody of the Cannon County Sheriff's Department and his next court date is Nov. 14.

• Brittany Welch had a domestic assault charged nullified by the state due to lack of sufficient evidence to move the case forward.

• Melissa Luttrell agreed to revocation for violation of probation. She was ordered to serve 11 months, 29 days, which will run concurrent with a sentence she is already serving.

• Jeffrey Christie agreed to revocation for violation of probation. She was order to serve 60 days. Her probation was extended for 20 months, 28 days.

• Catherine M. Sherrell agreed to revocation for violation of probation. She was ordered to serve 6 days in jail and her probation was extended for 11 months, 13 days.

• Michael L. Fladland had a charge of theft of property dismissed due to lack of witnesses for the state.
