Two Men Facing Sexual Battery Charges

Two area men are facing charges of having sexual contact with minors in separate alleged incidents.
One is Robert Adell Farris of Manchester. Farris was indicted by the Cannon County Grand Jury in January 2011 on one count of Sexual Battery and one count of Sexual Battery By An Authority Figure. The case was presented to the grand jury by Woodbury Police Sgt. Lowell Womack. The alleged contact occurred in October 2010.
Farris, 49, was served an arrest warrant at the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department on April 21. The grand jury returned a sealed indictment against him and he had not been located until last month. He is scheduled to appear in Cannon County Circuit Court in May 24. His bond was set at $20,000.
The second man charged is Micheal T. Reed of Woodbury. He faces one count of Sexual Battery By An Authority Figure. He was arrested following an incident which allegedly occurred with a minor child on April 12. The investigation was conducted by Cannon County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Deputy Tony Burnett.
Reed’s bond was set at $350,000. He is scheduled to appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court on June 12.
