Two Men Charged With Domestic Assault

Two men, one from Readyville and the other Woodbury, face domestic assaults charges following separate incidents which occurred on Aug. 11 and Aug. 12.

Adam Wayne McClure of Woodbury was arrested following a domestic situation on Aug. 11 at his home. The victim stated she feared imminent bodily harm from McClure due to his being intoxicated, yelling at her, and ripping her shirt. He also broke a door off its hinge while trying to get his belongings.

McClure was not located at the scene when officers first arrived, but he was later found hiding under the house by Woodbury Police Officers Chris Brown and Lowell Womack and Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Patrick Fann.

McClure denied touching the victim or threatening her when question by Brown. He said the reason he was under the house was that he was "justing keeping to myself."

Brown observed a strong odor of alcohol on McClure's breath.

In the other case, Gregory Wayne Hale of Readyville was charged with domestic assault by CCSD Deputy Brandon Mims after he did "intentionally, knowingly and recklessly caused bodily injury to (the victim) by pulling her arm out of a car window. Mr. Hale was pulling at her arm while the window was up causing injury to her. Mr. Hale enticed her to stick her arm put by telling her he had a number to Charlie Wilder on a piece of paper and if he wanted to call a police officer to call him. Mr. Hale placed (the victim) in fear of bodily injury upon doing this and busting out the passenger side window of the car with a chunk of wood."
