Truman Prater

Truman Prater, age 68, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at his home in Woodbury. He was a native of Cannon Co.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Merriman Prater of Woodbury; mother, Laura Gentry Prater of Warren Co.; Children, Mark (Tabatha) Prater, Tim Prater and Latisha (Stan) Myers all of Woodbury; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Prater, Brandon Prater, Holly Prater, Cody Prater & Samantha Mullican Howell; 3 great-grandchildren, Shaylynn Davenport, Coleigh Davenport & Skylar "Jasper" Howell; 7 siblings, Faye (Phillip) Adcock of Belk Community, Brenda (Joe) Merriman of Woodbury, Nadine (Danny) Sain, Janice (James) Coleman, Gail (Danny) Gillette, Donny Prater, and Jimmy (Teresa) Prater all of Warren Co.; In-laws, Wayne (Rachel) Merriman of Woodbury, Linda (Donald) Foster, and Jimmy (Carolyn) Merriman all of Warren Co.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Prater of Warren Co.; Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wavil and Tom Alford

He was a factory worker at Nissan, mechanic at Tennessee Trailer Sales, and a farmer. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Cripps officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on March 16, 2015 after 12 pm at Woodbury Funeral Home.
