Truitt Parker, 78 of Statesville, TN. passed away from this life Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Dekalb Community Hospital in Smithville, TN.  Truitt was born September 8, 1935 to the late Berle & Mallie B. Herman Parker. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at Prosperity Baptist Church at 2 pm with Bro. Leonard Herman officiating.  Burial will follow at Prosperity Cemetery.  The family will greet friends from 1 pm – 9 pm on Monday, June 16 and Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 9 am until 12 noon at Woodbury Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue at Prosperity Baptist Church from 1 pm until time of service.  

Truitt was a farmer and retired employee of the Tennessee Farmer’s Co-Op in LaVergne, Tn.  He was a member of the Prosperity Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Truitt was preceded in death by his precious wife of 58 years,  Betty Ann Gannon Parker; daughter, Teresa Gail Parker; Sister, Freda Rose Parker; brother, Billy Parker; Brothers-in-law, Houston Thomas, Jackie Gannon and James Watlington.

Truitt was known by his family and friends for his sweet reserve, sense of humor and enduring love for his family.  He will be sorely missed by those left behind who called him Daddy, Pa, Brother and friend.  He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby & Paulette Parker of Gassaway, Kerry & JeriAnn Parker of Liberty and Ronnie & Alice Parker of Statesville; 7 grandchildren:  Rachel (Jay) Steinhauer, Kayla (Jon) Addis, Jessica, Allen and Victoria Parker, Justin & Billy Parker; 3 Great Grandchildren: Kayleisha and Ke’shawn Parker and Baylee Addis; Siblings: Jerry (Susan) Parker, Phyllis (Bobby) Young and Betty Watlington; Sisters-in-law & Brothers-in-law: Faye Thomas, Floyd (Fannie) Gannon, Lloyd (Barbara) Gannon, Lonnie (Pat) Gannon, Wade (Judy) Gannon; Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
