Congratulations...now that's how ya' get 'er done, boys !! Of course, now my friends in Florida are all mad at me.....HA!! It's worth it to see our team on top for a change !! Uncle Festus is a true rebel (in more ways than one) and a good man! A little off at times and does have his unlucky times, but all in all, he is my uncle ! Well, Cousin Clarence went fishing the other day way off shore. Suddenly, he lost his balance and fell out of his boat and an oar hit him on his head and about knocked him out. The small boat filled up with water and Clarence was lucky enough to find a little island of rocks to cling to. Now, from what I understand, he had to be at least 30 miles off the mainland. He decided to swim for it. He got 15 miles closer to land...but began to get really tired....so he decided to swim back to the little island and rest. I mean, Clarence....you obviously did not do the math. I'll let you folks figure that one out. Aunt Martha hates litterbugs.....she was driving home in the rain the other night and someone in front of her heaved a large white trash bag out the driver's side window. You guessed it : It landed smack dab right in front of her and stuck to her windshield . She careened off the road and came to a stop almost in a gully and removed the bag. She said it was almost as scary as the time she was coming home from the beauty parlor. A guy carelessly threw his cigarette out the window and it flew into her driver's side open window and set her hair on fire because of all the hairspray. She poured her diet pepsi all over her head to douse the flames. Oh, she was mad as a hornet ! She said it was almost as bad as when a bat flew in her window early evening one night when she also was coming home from the beauty shop and got all tangled up in her new hairdo. Poor thing had scratch marks on her scalp for weeks after that !! (My advice to her was to drive with her window up from now on....), You know, folks, if something's going to happen, it will happen to my relatives...every time! I pray every night that it is not contagious.... Great news !! We had a busy Saturday on the week-end of the White Oak Craft Fair. People were out and about and happy to enjoy the nice fall weather. Our winter clothing and toy drive is picking up. Don't forget to drop by any coats, jackets, boots, sweaters, blankets, etc. here at the Trading Post. They will be distributed in December at the Feed America First food distribution center in Woodbury. By the way, if you know someone or if YOU need help with keeping food in your pantry....please call me at: 615-464-7824 and I will give the information you need to join others in collecting items you need. There's no shame in asking for a little help now and again. We are all in the same boat when things get tight and not always right. Also, keep calling me to make your reservations to be vendors in our Country Christmas Bazaar on Saturday October 10 from 10 to 5. No charge for vending spaces. All monies you make is yours. Also FREE LUNCH for all vendors and shoppers. The Barn will be decorated to the hilt with Christmas.
