Trading Post Chat
Wednesday, April 15, 2015 12:15 pm By SAVANNAH CUNNICK Hey there. It is Easter weekend when I am writing this so, not too late to wish all of you a lovely day. Those who attend church and egg hunts and family reunions, I hope all went well and thank you for honoring such an important occasion. Now, it is up to us to live up to the Lord's expectations that we live a fair and honest life. Be good to each other and offer a helping hand as it could be you who needs help next. Who can predict just what is in store for us. We certainly can't sit around and worry about it, but we can sure try to live the best life we can in every way. It's amazing how good one feels when they know they are doing the right thing towards others, heartfelt and with true effort. Be good examples for your children; their eyes and ears are bigger than you think! Respect your elders for without them we The Short Mountain Trading Post will be having their Family Fun Flea Market on Saturday May 2nd. Hours will be 10 to 5. Lots to see and buy. Something for everyone, so they say. Free lunch by JD at the grill for everybody. To reserve your free market space, please call me at 615-464-7824 as soon as possible. There will also be a Farmer's Market on hand and free tours of the barn and loft. Don't miss out and bring your friends and family! We recently had used furniture dropped off to the artists to refurbish. It is so appreciated. If you need to have your throw aways in furniture and house goods that you no longer need, please call the number above and we can pick it up if you are unable to bring it to the Barn. The Distillery is full of steam with lots of events coming up. The Stillhouse Restaurant is opening May 14th. It will be open Thursday through Sunday 12 to 9. Visit the website:stillhouserestaurant.com for reservations. Also on May 14th, Short Mountain Distillery will be releasing their new 93 proof Tennessee Whiskey Bourbon. It's rare and will go quick, so we encourage people to call us and reserve their bottles if they really want one. May 15th they will be hosting their first Stillhouse Session Music Series hosted by Cole Washburn. It will consist of bonfire, music and drinks. Many more events are coming up at both the Short Mountain Trading Post and the Distillery, so watch for all the info in my Trading Post Chat or on our facebook pages. We are all so busy at this point that we don't know whether we found a rope or lost our horse! Uncle Festus thinks he is so clever with his little sayings. Such as If the shoe fits, get one just like it. (huh?) And Gun Control requires concentration and a steady hand. Then Lettin' the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than gettin' it back in. And Never squat with yer spurs on. And If you can't put a smile on your face, yor skin's too tight. (Yep, he is a character, but now I look at it, so of it that makes sense!) Aunt Martha doesn't know where Festus gets all his writing ablilities because he sure can't get out of bed in the morning! She went to wake him up this morning for church and he said: If you want someone bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, go catch a squirrel! He claims that he would be a morning person, if he could start at noon. He keeps telling her that he will fix things; she just doesn't have to remind him every six months! All I can say to you Festus is don't stand still too long, it gives the vultures a place to land. (He's still thinking about that one.) Well, for now all of you have a great week and behave yourselves. Come and see us at the Trading Post and give me a call if you decide to be in the Flea Market. If not, just come anyway. We are open now Thursdays through Saturdays 10 to 5 .so c'mon in! Chat with you next week and take care.
