Trading Post Chat

By SAVANNAH CUNNICK

Okay, Christmas and New Years Eve have passed and we presently have the countdown till Christmas already!

ive me a break, guys! All I know is that snow is predicted this week and we are definitely into the winter at this point! So stock up on the firewood, bundle up and make sure your cable bill is paid, because Old Man Winter is a knockin' at our door!

I will say, tho, we did have a 60 degree weather this past Saturday and lots of folks came in to visit and buy. That was wonderful! New vendors were setting up and new merchandise in the Loft. So, like I have said when we have a warm weekend we are open. Call me if you wish to come out and visit during these winter months to make sure we are open. Please call 615-464-7824.

Also, we are searching for new vendors who have an interesting craft/art/collectibles that they would like to sell. No charge for the booth and lots of exposure. So, let me know at the number above. Ask for Savannah.

A miracle happened at the Post involving our kitty population. Our momma cat, Weegie, had another litter of four kittens two months ago. She decided that this litter, Savannah was going to babysit. She carried them up the stairs to the Loft and she proceeded to allow me to add a kitty litter box, dishes and food, toys and warmth. Lots of love, of course! Well, that lasted for awhile and so many visitors to the Trading Post totally enjoyed those little babies.

Well, about two weeks ago, Momma decided to move her children. I mean, it broke my heart when I discovered they were gone. I didn't know if a predator took them or what. The next thought was that Weegie had moved them nearby and decided to teach them hunting methods. A week later, a call came through from the Distillery that little kitties had shown up at their doorstep and were they from the barn.

I breathed such a sigh of relief, because honestly, I had not slept very well for the entire week they were missing. A dear friend, Hush, took in the two blonde kitties and the calico. I had already named the calico, Gizmo, and she had gotten quite used to me up in the Loft. Hush returned Gizmo to me and what a wonderful reunion that was. She was more than welcomed in our home, already filled with four cats and a dog. Of course, there was that period of time that all the cats had to get used to the new kitten, but so far things are good. Trust me, that little Gizmo thinks she died and went to heaven when she was rescued from the wilderness and cold and placed in a warm loving home with lots of food, cuddle time and toys. We are definite animal lovers and would have so many more if we had the room for them. Which reminds me. PLEASE take extra care of your outdoor pets this time of year. Make sure they have a warm place to stay out of the elements and lots of food and water. If you have dogs outside, just remember that they protect you; you do the same for them!

Festus and Clyde are still visiting relatives in North Carolina. I keep getting these pleading phone calls to please find a way to get them to go home, but, good grief, it has been such a breath of fresh air since they have been gone. that I would have to be insane to beg too hard for their return! (Sigh..)

I gotta run for now but please take care of each other, dress warm in this cold weather and be happy with yourself and family. Chat with you next week.

Hugs, Savannah
