It's SNOWING! Today is November 17 and we have snow! Leaves are still on the trees with a crust of snow with the glow of silver. Nature is amazing and the cold weather is actually refreshing. They salted the roads the other day, so I knew we where in for it! If the snow keeps up, Santa should have a very soft landing by the time Christmas Eve arrives.

Ooops, that means holiday decorations going up inside and out all over the place and the stores are packed with tempting gifts and holiday decor! My goodness, I used to really do it up with the BIG tree, lights all over the place, overboard with the gifts for my two boys and all the relatives and friends that joined us on Christmas day. Now, I've slowed down as my boys are in different states, my relatives have passed on and my friends feel the same way I do at this point which is: Enjoy the beauty of nature, the fact that we are still here to enjoy our lives here on earth and respect the true meaning of Christmas. I find myself listening to the words more carefully in the holiday carols, relaxing more and chuckling over memories of this time of year so many years ago.

We recently had our Christmas Extravaganza and enjoyed a very early visit from Santa who greeted all those who attended and searched out those special handcrafted and vintage decorations to add to their collection of holiday glee. We certainly enjoyed everyone who came to see us and joined in the festivities! From now on our hours open are weather pending. Please call me at: 615-464-7824 to make sure we are there. If it is cool, but sunny, we will be open. The barn is not climate controlled, so we definitely depend on Mother Nature at this point. We are chockful of wonderful things for Holiday gifting and decorating. So, please do come and see us!

We recently sadly lost a good friend to the Trading Post and Distillery. Charity was in a serious automobile accident and has passed on. None of us will ever forget her wonderful spirit and hard working demeanor. She was not only a loyal friend, but loyal to her job and a good mother to her two little children. It's always sad to loose folks to these tragedies and suddenly realize that you no longer will hear their voice or hug them again. Yes, we believe that they are now in Heaven making a place for us, but the painful physical loss is still an actuality. We wish the very best for Charity's family and may they know that she will be deeply missed by all of us.... Please find the good in each day, Folks. Life is too precious.

Well, Uncle Festus has sworn up and down that he will never buy his kids a bike again. Last Christmas, he decided to save $5 by putting this bike together by himself for his twelve year old son. Well, he put it together all right....the poor child had to not only peddle backwards but he had to watch that the seat did not fall off and pray his brakes worked. It was a disaster! Finally, the fellas at the local fire department reassembled the bike into proper working condition. The sheriff almost arrested Festus for child endangerment.

Aunt Martha had stayed up all night putting together a rather difficult doll house for Peggy, their 5 year old daughter. Finally hopping into bed at three in the morning, she slept through the Santa alarm and woke to hear a huge crash. Goofy Festus and Peggy were racing down the stairs to see what was left under the tree and landed right on the doll house. Smash! Martha sighed and went back to bed only to find out later that Baby Sydney had swallowed all the coins that were left in the stockings along with the candy. Festus knew better than to ask for change for awhile, as the Doctor who came out to check on the baby said: Sydney will be alright, just will take awhile to make the proper deposit. Good Grief, that family is a three ring circus! And, they are a real mess at the holiday dinner table. This year, they are visiting kin in North Carolina and I am very relieved at that. I won't be so lucky on Thanksgiving Day, as they whole gang will be at my house. Ya gotta make the most of it and be glad the Distillery is close by! Hiccup!

Here comes the snowflakes again and my husband JD is all excited about watching the Titans play the Steelers in this challenging weather. Good Luck Titans! Have a great week and a safe one. Also remember that your houses may be far apart, but your neighbors are always close by. Take care of each other. Smile. And I will chat with you next week. See you at the Trading Post soon.
Hugs, Savannah
