Trading Post Chat

By SAVANNAH CUNNICK

Hey Hey Folks....how is your week so far? I ask because I care....so keep on trucking to Hump Day and before you know it, it's TGIF and the week end is here! Monotonous but oh, so true!

It almost puts me in the mood when I remember that I begged my Mom to take karate lessons. She wouldn't let me....she was afraid I would break my nose. Ironically, I broke my nose in a fight protecting my best friend and because I didn't know how to defend myself. (Thanks Mom.) Aren't I awful with such memories! I'm sure we all can reflect on crazy past events when we were young. Amazing how those crazy events never stop and keep on going. I don't know how many of you keep a diary, but there's not enough paper to capture the crazy in my past, present and probably future. So, hang tight and be reassured that you are certainly NOT ALONE!

Joan Rivers is a great example regarding this subject. What a ride she had with her life! Joan was put on earth to make people laugh, a pioneer comedian. And, she did a great job at it. The things she would come up with and right on the spot with comebacks. She stated that: My body is so out of shape, I can have a mammogram and a pedicure at the same time! And: I was so ugly that they sent my picture to Ripley's Believe it or Not and he sent it back and said: I DON'T believe it! Looking 50 is great, if you're 60. I told my mother in law that my house was her house and she said: Get off my Property! That's a small sample of the multitude of entertaining statements she never ran out of. We will miss you Joan. You were one of the best!

You know, we are all mature, until someone pulls out the bubble wrap. Think about it.... Well, onto the Short Mountain Trading Post business: Remember the Saturday, October 11th Spooktacular event and Flea Market Day! This will be so much fun and some great food and flea market buys. Inside the barn, all the craftspeople offer their terrific artwork and up in the famous loft, so much to enjoy as far as gifts and antiques. If you wish to be part of the flea market, and the space is FREE,call me, Savannah, at 615-464-7824 to reserve your spot! We will have terrific food, mule wagon rides to the Distillery and back and trunk or treat for all the little ones. Don't miss out!
The Short Mountain Distillery is working dilligently on their new restaurant to soon be opened by the end of October. Their tours are from Thursday thru Saturday 9:00 to 4:00 and moonshine available for sale.

Special thanks to Mary Hooper for the amazing pumpkins and squash that she donated to the Trading Post. Truly appreciate your response to our request.

Auntie Ann told me the other day: You're old when getting lucky means you find your car in the parking lot! Then, Uncle Fester cried to me about the fact that old age is when you have stopped growing at both ends and have begun to grow in the middle! Does he not realize that his visits at the local bar just might have something to do with it? He just needs a sympathetic pat on the head...with a hammer! Honestly Fester!

Remember, Folks to come on in to the Trading Post on Short Mountain Highway and buy your raffle tickets for the fantastic Turkey Fryer. And, while you are there enjoy the barn all decorated for Halloween. C'mon In! Well, listen everybody, hang in there and take care of each other, smile, laugh and be happy for what you have. Enjoy our fall weather and see you soon at the Trading Post. Thanks to all of you who have come to see us and been repeat visitors as well. Love it!

Chat next week.
HUGS...Savannah
