Three Plead Guilty To Felony Pot Possession



Judge Don Ash presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Friday. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:

Octavius Smith pled guilty to the charge of felony possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison as a standard 30 percent offender. He was also fined $3,000.00 and ordered to pay the court costs. A suspended sentence hearing was scheduled for January 8, 2010.

Donald Reeder was reset for motions on December 11, 2009.

Elisha Jenkins entered a conditional plea of guilty to the charge of theft over $1,000.00. He was placed on supervised probation for 2 years, ordered to pay the court costs and ordered to pay restitution.

Nickolas Reeder was reset for motion on December 11, 2009.

Christopher Ferrell pled guilty to the charge of felony possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison as a standard 30 percent offender. He was also fined $2,000.00 and ordered to pay the court costs. A suspended sentence hearing was scheduled for January 8, 2010.

Larry Henry was set for a jury trial on January 29, 2010 and a motions hearing on December 11, 2009.

Kevin Boyce Pope, Jr. pled guilty to the charge of felony possession of marijuana and two counts of sale of marijuana. He was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison as a standard 30 percent offender. The sale of marijauna sentences were ordered to run concurrently for an effective jail sentence of 3 years. He was also fined $6,000.00 and ordered to pay the court costs. A suspended sentence hearing was scheduled for January 8, 2010.

Jeffery Lee Thomas' petition to waive probation fees was granted by Judge Ash. His fees were waived and his proabtion was extended for an additional 3 years.

The violation of probation warrant against Jason Brown was dismissed without costs.

David Johnson was reset for plea day on December 11, 2009.
