Thomas Farrar Garrett



Mr. Thomas Farrar Garrett, age 99, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 in Maury Regional Hospital.

Mr. Garrett was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee and son of the late William Turner and Vivian Nelms Garrett. He was retired from the Lewisburg Gas Department and was a member of the Wilson Hill Church of Christ where he had served as an Elder and was a member of the Mooresville Fire Department.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in New Hope Cemetery at Ostella.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jolene Massey Garrett, second wife, Ruby Cheeves Garrett, daughter, Sue Farrar Garrett, two sons, Joel Thomas Garrett and Donald Ray Garrett. He is survived by his present wife, Russie E. Burrow Garrett of Lewisburg, son, Billy Paul Garrett of Batesburg, South Carolina, three daughters, Julia Smith of Chapel Hill, Marilyn Hooten of Murfreesboro, and Carolyn Herriman of Woodbury, step son, Carrol Edwards of Lewisburg, brother, Bill Garrett of Lebanon, sister, Roslyn Collins of Lewisburg, sixteen grandchildren, one great great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mooresville Fire Department, Wilson Hill Church of Christ Memorial Fund, New Hope Cemetery or Short Cemetery.
