Country Music Jam Session
Pocahontas Community Center
1st and 3rd Fridays
A country music jam sessions is set for the first and third Fridays of each month at the Pocahontas Community Center, 1441 Pocahontas Road, Morrison. The American Legion Post 279 in Woodbury is selling flags and
accessories. The monies raised from the sale of these flags goes 100% back to our Community, our Youth and our Veterans, in Cannon County. This is an on-going project. We have available an assortment of all sizes and all types of flags - United States Flags, State Flags, Military Service Flags; and all sizes of flag poles.
The United States Flag 3'x 5' nylon is $25 (best price
anywhere). This is our most popular flag. The United States Flag 4"x 6" is .50 each or $5 a dozen for special occasions. The military services/branches flags are $30 each. For that special display. We can get you any State Flag, different size flags and different

Art Center Season Tickets
The Arts Center of Cannon County has set its 2016 season with tickets going on sale Nov. 2. Season Tickets are just $60 for six shows. The 2016 Season features:

Bro. Herb Alsup, retired preacher at Woodbury Church of Christ, will be guest speaker at the Cannon County Historical Society's meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Cannon County Senior Citizens Center, 609 College St., Woodbury. Herb has been called the "Chaplain of Cannon County" and is well known and well regarded throughout Cannon County and Middle Tennessee. Snacks and refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m.

Lions Club Blood Drive

During Red Cross Month in March, the American Red Cross invites individuals to become everyday heroes by giving blood. Upcoming blood donation opportunities include: Lions Club Building, 540 W Adams St. Woodbury on March 17 from noon - 6 p.m. March has been recognized as Red Cross Month by every U.S. president since 1943. Red Cross Month is a celebration of supporters who are the face of the Red Cross in their communities, helping to prepare for and bringing help and hope after emergencies. Banks Cemetery Meeting
Sunday, March 20
The annual meeting for Banks Cemetery in DeKalb County will be held on Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m. at Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Financial information will be presented, trustees and officers will be elected, and other business will be discussed as necessary. Please make arrangements to remove old flowers from your family and love ones' graves since mowing season will soon begin. For anyone interested in submitting a bid for mowing and upkeep of the cemetery, please contact Ernie Winchester at 615-812-9921.

Auburn Elementary School is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, March 22nd from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the school gym. Interested donors please contact Cindy Larson at cindy.larson@ccstn.net for an appointment or call the school at 615-464-4342. If you have never given blood please consider this life-saving gift. One donation could save up to three lives. You must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not have given blood in the past 56 days. There is no upper age limit. Presented by the Woodbury Lions Club, the 9th Annual Princess Ball is a father and daughter dance. Household Hazardous Waste Events
Cannon County will not be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste event this year. You are welcome to take any household waste to a neighboring county.
Included on the list are leftover household products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients are considered to be household hazardous waste (HHW). Products, such as paints, cleaners, oils, batteries, and pesticides, that contain potentially hazardous ingredients require special care when you dispose of them.

Annual Waterfall Tour
Saturday, March 19
March 19 - The 15th Annual Waterfall Tour by Friends of Edgar Evins State Park: Ride a school bus to selected waterfalls in the Middle TN area. This year we will visit the falls at Old Stone Fort State Park, Cascade Hollow Falls, near the George Dickle Distillery and Rutledge Falls. We will eat lunch at the Farmers Market Family Buffet in Manchester. Expect short walks on uneven ground. Cost is $15 per person, plus lunch. Reservations required.
