Ted Burks, 84, of Woodbury passed away at his daughter’s home Tuesday, July 30, 2013. He was a native of Summittville in Coffee Co. He was preceded in death by his parents, Comer P. & Votra Geneva Chumbney Burks; Wives, Beulah Burks and Roberta Burks; 3 brothers, Jerry, Hoyde and Howard Burks and 2 sisters, Velvia Vaughn & Beulah Mae Burks.

He is survived by his 2 Children: Denise (Kerry) Foster and Floyd (Janet) Burks all of Woodbury; 6 Grandchildren: Kenny Johnson, Angie (Matt) Campbell, Cory Foster, Erika (Jerry) Lokey, Chelsie Burks and Austen Burks;

7 Great Grandchildren: Trey, Jessica, Drew & Bailey Johnson, Kaydence Lokey, Jacob Campbell and Lacey Foster and brother: Leon (Pat) Burks of Summittville.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. John Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Coleman Cemetery, Rutherford Co. Pallbearers include, Chad and Austen Burks, Jerry Lokey, Kenny, Trey and Drew Johnson, Matt and Jacob Campbell, Terry and Russell Burks. Visitation with the family will be 4 pm until 8 pm Friday.

Mr. Burks was a member of the Sunny Hills Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in Korea. He was retired from Aladdin Industries after 39 years. Woodbury Funeral Home, 615-563-2311 orwww.woodburyfuneralhome.net
