Storms Knock Down MTEMC Poles, Lines

Powerful thunderstorms and a possible tornado moved through Middle Tennessee Electric’s service area early this morning knocking down poles and power lines.

“Our hardest hit areas appear to be in southeast Rutherford County and southern Wilson County,” MTEMC Communications Coordinator Todd Palmer said.

“Our crews have been on stand by all night and are working hard to get the power restored in these areas.”

Middle Tennessee Electric’s power outage status map shows 1,540 members without power in Rutherford County, 1,740 members out in Wilson County and scattered outages in Williamson and Cannon County.
