Special 'Sunday Lunch' at The Gathering at Milton a tasty success

MILTON - An excited crowd of nearly 80 people enjoyed eating a Southern Sunday Lunch in an historic 120-year-old former country store building here on Sunday (July 21) afternoon.

Smiling faces of all ages gathered to eat a home-cooked meal catered by Carolyn Miller and see the vintage black-and-white photos displayed on the walls of The Gathering at Milton, a newly restored event venue. It is located in the heart of this rural community a scenic drive about 20 minutes outside of Murfreesboro off of Hwy. 96.

The building was restored after being bought by current owners Phillip and Alanna Vaught at auction in February 2018.

It was the first time for Ron and Judy Crabtree to visit the Gathering at Milton. "If you want to eat good food like your grandmother cooked and not have to help with doing the dishes, this is the place to come," he said about the menu served for the special event.

Future events at The Gathering at Milton:

Saturday, Sept. 21 -- A dinner and bake sale, a fundraiser for the Rutherford County 4-H Meats Judging team that will be representing Tennessee at the national finals in Denver, Colorado in January 2020.

Saturday, Oct. 12 - The second Milton Fall Market & Craft Fair featuring food trucks, children's activities and more than 50 carefully selected art and crafts booths.
