Hello from Northern Iraq. Life at FOB Sykes is good as we survived one more holiday away from the ones we love.
Christmas was good here, I am very thankful for my "second family", as they make being away from home a little easier. I am so thankful for the amazing care packages full of great things to share.
Just an example of the things in the packages, baked goods, hygiene products, candy, Lot's of food, chips, pj's, magazines, books, and Lot's of Christmas decorations. Oh and Lot's of Diet Mtn Dew, thank you all so much.
A special thank you to Woodbury Church of Christ, Woodbury Nursing Center, Burnette Chapel Church of Christ, Immanuel Baptist Church and Tanya Whited, along with every individual who thought of us. When I returned from R&R, there were a total of 87 boxes to be shared, that's amazing, THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I would also like to say a special thank you to Bryan Francis, for allowing Wade to have the entire time off work to spend with me and our family while I was home, for some much needed and missed family time. THANK YOU!
I hope each of you had a wonderful Christmas at home with your families, as this is my favorite time of the year.
A new year is upon us and I am so excited. 2010 is going to be an amazing year for my family and I. I am very excited to get home and be with the one's who love me the most.
I wish each of you a very Happy New Year!
As my deployment is FINALLY starting to wrap up, I want to thank you all for your support, thoughts, prayers, letters, emails and packages. All of these has made my sad days easier here in Iraq. Myself and my fellow soldiers of 1-230th ACS say THANKS!
As much as I enjoy all your letters and packages, I have been waiting all year to say this, Please do NOT send any mail after Feb 10th, 2010!!! With that said, that means we are very close to coming back to wonderful TENNESSEE!
God Bless each of you and keep you safe!
Until Next Time...........
