Kathy Nokes and Robert Pitts of Short Mountain Elementary won the Relay for Life 'Sock It To Cancer' competition across the county schools. The spirited competition, hosted by Stones River Hospital, encouraged students to donate socks full of change to Cannon County Relay for Life in support of the fight against cancer. Short Mountain School raised $181.50 in donations for the American Cancer Society's Cannon County Relay. Students also wore purple on May 9th to show their support of the county-wide event.
