The Cannon County boys soccer team got off to a strong start in a 5-0 blanking of Bledsoe County to open the season.

Sophomore keeper Waylon Sedtal was outstanding in goal, collecting 10 saves and helping register the shutout for the Lions, who also received outstanding defense overall.

Simon Morey led the Lions offensive outburst with two goals. Jordan Turney, Umar Rasul and Cody Deese scored one goal each.
