A Smithville woman died as the result of a one-vehicle crash on Stones River Road on July 22.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the deceased as Misty L. Reed, 37.
According to the report filed by Trooper Joshua Sparkman, Reed was driving a 1996 Chevrolet GC1 on Stones River Road at approximately 5 p.m. near the intersection with Francis Lane. Sparkman's investigation indicated Reed was negotiating a left curve, over-corrected, and traveled off the roadway and down into an embankment.
Reed was ejected from the vehicle, the report states. The vehicle then rolled over on top of Reed before coming to a rest.
Sparkman's report states Reed was not wearing a seat belt.
Reed was transported to Stones River Hospital and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Services for Reed were held at Martin Lewis Funeral Home in LaFollette on July 25.
